There can be no better recommendation for a nursery than when parents who have a child there decide to register a younger sibling.
That was the case for Finley who, two years after his big sister Grace had first attended Little Pippins, followed in her footsteps.
“Grace was enjoying her time there, so it seemed the natural thing to do,” said mum Emily,
“We like the Montessori approach, lots of crafty things and outdoor activities in a relaxed atmosphere.”
Grace is now 6 and has settled well in primary school and Finley joined her this month (September 2026).
“At Little Pippins she particularly liked the reading and the writing side of things,” said Emily.
“With Finley it was more the outdoors stuff, getting dirty, making mud pies, finding worms with his boy gang. It’s good he could get all that muddy stuff out of the system while he was there.”
Emily says the communication between the nursery and parents is very good.
“The tapestry app means you see what they have been up to,” she says.
“I could ask Finley and I might get a short response but then look on the app and see photos of them making pancakes on an open fire or exploring the grounds for wildlife.”
Emily also appreciates the many events put on for parents. The annual nativity, stay and play or sports day.
“Finley left in the summer for primary school so we enjoyed the graduation day and ice cream van,” said Emily.
“With Grace also having been there we’ve been dropping off at Little Pippins for the past five years so it was the end of an era for us. A time the children have really enjoyed and which has set them up well for school.”
